What is Glyde?

Glyde is an online marketplace that makes it truly easy to buy and sell smartphones, tablets, MacBooks, iPods, and video games. The marketplace is made up of individuals like you, who are looking for a better, simpler place to make and save money online.

What makes Glyde different from other online marketplaces?

Glyde removes the friction and hassle from buying and selling online. As a seller, you can list your item for sale in seconds. Glyde gets you more cash for your items than trade in sites by connecting you directly to buyers. There are no photos to upload or auctions to manage. When your item sells, we send you a pre-paid, Netflix-like shipping kit to fulfill the sale. Withdraw your cash proceeds directly to your bank account or receive a check.

Is it safe to buy and sell on Glyde?

Glyde ensures the safety of your information with a secure connection and transfers your data using an https connection with 256-bit encryption. Money exchanges are held securely by Glyde during a transaction and our service team (contact  service@glyde.com ) has your back if anything goes wrong. Which shipping service does Glyde use?

Almost all packages are shipped through the United States Postal Service. We use First Class and Priority shipping, depending on weight and distance.

Can I use Glyde if I live outside of the United States?

Glyde does not support shipping outside of the contiguous United States. The credit card that you use on Glyde must be issued from a bank within the United States and connected to a U.S. address.

What can I sell on Glyde?

You can sell smartphones, tablet computers, MacBooks, iPods, and video games.  Find your item to sell here . If you want to sell something you currently don't see on Glyde, tell us here and we'll keep it under consideration.

How do I get paid?

Proceeds are deposited into your Glyde account 3 days after delivery to your buyer. You can withdraw that money directly to your bank account, get paid in bitcoins, or receive a paper check.

Can I get paid through PayPal?

We do not currently support PayPal but it's easy to withdraw your proceeds directly to your bank account, get paid in bitcoins, or receive a paper check.

Are there fees for selling on Glyde?

Creating an account and listing items for sale on Glyde is completely FREE. When your item sells, we deduct 12% of the item's sale price. When listing an item for sale, the amount quoted on the "In your pocket:" line is the total amount you will make on your sale. Depending on the item, it's $1.00 - $6.00 for the shipping kit.

How do I withdraw my proceeds?

Click 'Withdraw' on your  Account page . Electronic withdrawals to your bank account and Bitcoin withdrawals are free. Get a paper check mailed to you for a $2.00 fee. Bitcoin withdrawals will process in 1-2 business days. Allow 3-5 business days for an electronic deposit to appear in your bank account and 5-7 business days for paper check to arrive in the mail.

How does Bitcoin work?

Bitcoin is a new digital currency. It can be exchanged for dollars or used to pay for goods and services where accepted. When you sell an item on Glyde, you'll have the option to withdraw your proceeds in bitcoins. It's a fast and secure way to get paid. If you choose the Bitcoin payment method when you withdraw, the amount you take out will be transferred from dollars to bitcoins according to the rate of exchange at the time of your withdrawal. The price or value of Bitcoin can change rapidly. Like cash, you cannot deposit bitcoins into your Glyde account.

How is Market Price determined?

Each day we crunch the numbers from thousands of online sales to get the Glyde Market Price, a figure that gets you the most money for your item in a speedy timeframe.

I see an item listed for sale at a higher price than I can list mine. What's up with that?

The item you see at a higher price was listed at an earlier date, when the value and suggested listing price was higher. As most items age, they decrease in value. However, a listing made at the lower, more updated price will sell first.

Can I describe my item's condition in more detail?

No need. Our condition descriptions and questions simplify the listing process and accurately determine the price of your item.

How long will it take for my item to sell?

This time period depends on the item you list and the price you set. Most items sell within a few days while iPhones, iPads, and popular video games can sell within hours. To ensure a quick sale, we recommend listing your item at or below our suggested Market Price.

How do I send my item to the buyer?

We send you foam-padded boxes for gadget and MacBook sales and bubble mailers for video games. Included in each kit is a pre-paid label that will carry your item on to the buyer. Just place the package in your outgoing mail.

Can I include extra stuff in the sale, like my phone or tablet case?

Please do not include any accessories beyond your power adapter and cable. The postage for each shipping box is calculated to a specific weight. Including extra accessories like cases can cause shipping problems and will not increase the value of your sale.

How will you update me on my sale?

We'll email you every step of the way, from when your item sells to when you withdraw your proceeds.

How do I wipe the data from my phone or tablet before I ship it?

We've got you covered. Visit Glydecast for instructions on restoring your device to its factory settings.

Should I deactivate my phone before shipping?

Yes, please call your carrier (AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, T-Mobile, etc.) and make sure to deactivate the phone before shipping. A shipped phone that is not deactivated will likely result in a return.

Is my item insured?

We've insured your item from the start with no extra fees. Lost or damaged items are extremely rare, but if there is a problem we'll first confirm it was mailed and then work with our insurance carrier to get you the proceeds for your sale.

Why don't you carry the item I want to sell?

Glyde's catalog is updated daily with new products that you can list for sale. If you don't see your item in the search bar, try an alternate product title or  ask us to add it to the catalog here .

Can I sell multiple phones or tablets at once?

Yes! If you have more than 10 cell phones or tablets to sell at once, please visit our bulk selling page here . We'll connect your items with one of our trusted bulk buyers, coordinate shipping, and make sure you get top dollar.

Why do you need my Credit Card if I'm selling?

To maintain a reliable and trustworthy marketplace for buyers and sellers, we need to verify your identity. There are no charges for creating an account or listing an item for sale.

Can I drop the package into a blue USPS mailbox?

Glyde packages for video games, phones, tablets, and iPods are accepted in those blue USPS collection boxes. You can also put the package in your outgoing mail or drop it off at your local post office. For laptops, drop the box off at the post office or schedule a  USPS pickup .

What is a Sell Reminder?

A sell reminder is an email that reminds you to sell your item at a specific date. After all, you know when you're due to upgrade your phone or tablet or when you'll finish a game. To set one, just begin listing your item for sale and click 'SetReminder'. Learn more about Sell Reminders .

How do I become a professional seller on the Glyde marketplace?

What can I buy on Glyde?

How long will it take to get my order?

Shipping times can vary on Glyde because we first send a shipping kit to the seller to fulfill the sale. Items are typically delivered to you within 5-10 business days. The distances between our shipping locations, the seller, and your location can affect this time period. Although these shipping times may be longer than some online retailers, by matching your order directly with an individual seller, we are able to offer you greater savings.

Am I buying from Glyde or from another person?

Glyde is a marketplace for both buyers and sellers. Glyde does not keep items in stock or sell items directly. The items you see on Glyde are from people who have listed them for sale. We monitor the marketplace to ensure that only reliable and timely sellers are included.

How do I cancel my order?

If you mistakenly purchased an item, visit your Transactions page as soon as possible to see if your order can be canceled. Cancellations can only be processed before the shipping kit is sent to the seller, which occurs daily. For any questions about cancellations, email us at service@glyde.com .

How do I track my order?

Select your order on your Transactions page . Tracking information will appear and update on your Order page automatically once the seller ships your item.

How do Price Alerts work?

Tell us the price you want to pay for an item and we'll email you when that item hits your price. It's an easy way to jump on deals. Set a Price Alert from the upper right corner of the buy window once you select your item. Learn more here .

Does Glyde have a shopping cart?

There is no shopping cart on Glyde. Items must be purchased individually by clicking the Buy Now button.

Can I combine shipping on multiple items?

There is no combined shipping on Glyde because each item you purchase will likely come from a different individual seller and will ship separately.

What payment methods are accepted? Can I pay with PayPal?

Glyde accepts Visa and MasterCard. You can also pay for items with the Glyde Credit you earn from selling. Glyde does not have integration with PayPal.

Does Glyde have expedited shipping?

We first send the shipping kit to the seller of the item. This prevents us from offering an expedited shipping option.

How do I return an item?

Let us know that the item was not as-described through the email you received upon delivery and initiate the return. We'll send you a pre-addressed, pre-stamped shipping kit. Simply put your item in the kit, drop it in the mail, and you're done. You'll have your money back for the item in a few days.

What does Glyde do to keep the marketplace secure?

We monitor the marketplace carefully so that only reliable buyers and sellers are included. Sellers who form a pattern of not fulfilling sales are removed.

Will the phone I purchase come with a SIM card?

SIM cards are not guaranteed to come with your phone. SIM cards can be easily obtained from your carrier before or during activation.

How do I buy in volume on the Glyde marketplace?
