How to Wipe Your Samsung Phone

Follow these steps to perform a Factory Data Reset on your Samsung phone.

Step 1

Open up the Applications Tray. It’s located at the bottom of the screen in the middle.

Step 2

Scroll through the Applications and touch Settings.

Step 3

Touch Privacy.

Step 4

Touch Factory Data Reset.

Step 5

Touch Reset Phone and then touch Erase Everything.

Step 6

To deactivate your phone, call your carrier and ask them to disassociate the phone from your account.

It might be slightly different for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. Follow these steps to wipe the Samsung Galaxy Nexus phone.

Step 1

Touch Backup & Reset.

Step 4

Touch Factory data reset.

Step 5

Touch Reset Phone and then touch Erase Everything.

Step 6

Some phones give you the option to format the SD card at the same time you revert to factory settings. If you don’t trust the wipe, just take your SD card out of your phone.
