How to Reset Your Android Password



Forgot your pattern to unlock your Android? Your Android will lock you out after five consecutive wrong attempts. ‘Forgot Pattern’ will now appear at the bottom of the screen. You can either manually reset your phone or use your Google account to create a new code.

How to Reset Your Android Password

Option 1: Using Your Google Account

Step 1

Select Forgot Pattern and your Google account should come up.

Step 2

Enter your username and password. Once you select Sign In, you can create a new code. Touch Confirm to finish.

Option 2: The Factory Reset

Step 1

Open the Applications Tray. This is the arrow pointing up located in the middle at the bottom of the display screen.

Step 2

Scroll to Settings.

Step 3

Touch Factory data reset.

Step 4

Touch Reset Phone.

Step 5

Touch Erase Everything.

Option 3: The Manual Reset

Step 1

Turn off your phone.

Step 2

Press Power key + “x” (on the hardware keyboard) to power on the phone and bring up the recovery screen.

Step 3

Press Volume Up + Camera Key to show the recovery menu.

Step 4

Select Wipe Data or Factory data reset.

Step 5

Select Reboot Phone.
