Which Edition of the Game or DVD Do You Have?

Before you make a decision to buy or list your video game or DVD on Glyde, it’s very important to make sure you’re listing the right item. Often video games and DVDs have several variants. To help you out, we’ve put together a list of some quick tips to help you determine which edition you have.

Standard Edition vs. Special Edition

While some video game titles are available for different consoles, games are also available in different editions. Video games are often released as Standard Editions right away and re-released as Special Editions later. The Special Edition usually comes with additional promotional items with occasional changes to the actual game. Some key indicators to look out for are the cover art and the labels on the packaging.

Full Screen vs. Wide Screen, Standard vs. Special Edition

DVDs are usually available in different formats. One thing to look out for is the aspect ratio. You can find this information on the DVD cover if you refer to the back, close to the bottom of the case. Some Key Words and numbers you can look out for:

Widescreen: Letterbox, Enhanced for Widescreen TVs, 16:9, 2.35:1, 1.85:1

Full Screen: Fullscreen, Pan and Scan, 1.33:1, Formatted to fit your screen.

To be able to determine the difference between a standard and Special Edition DVD, the cover art and any labels on the packaging are the best indicators.
