How to Wipe Your iPod
Restore your iPod to its factory settings so that it's ready for its next owner. If you haven't sold your iPod yet, visit Glyde to get started.
Step 1To make sure your device is backed up and you don't lose your music, go to Settings and tap iCloud. Then select Backup & Storage. Make sure iCloud Backup is set to ON or select Back Up Now.
Step 2If you are using iOS 7 on your Touch, turn off Find My iPod by going to Settings again and tapping on iCloud. Slide Find My iPod to the OFF position. Enter your password and confirm.
Step 3Re-enter Settings and then go to General. Select Reset and tap Erase All Content and Settings.
iPod Classic or Nano
Step 1Use your computer to restore your iPod Classic or Nano. Make sure you have a good Interent connection and have installed the latest version of iTunes.
Step 2Open iTunes and connect your iPod using a USB or FireWire cord. Locate and select your device in the Source panel.
Step 3Click Restore. When stage one is complete you'll be prompted to disconnect the iPod or leave it connected to complete the restoring process.
Step 4After stage two, the restoring process is complete. The iTunes assistant will appear and ask you to name the iPod. Leave it at this stage.
Step 1Use your computer to restore your iPod Shuffle. Make sure you have a good Interent connection and have installed the latest version of iTunes.
Step 2Start iTunes and connect your iPod Shuffle to the computer. It will register in the Devices section of iTunes.
Step 3Click on your iPod Shuffle in the Devices section. Then, click on the Restore button and choose one of the four Restore Options.
Step 4You may be asked to confirm with your password. After the restore process is complete, the orange status light will flash. You're all set!
