Facetime over 3G/4G

Video calling your contacts will work over 3G, not just over Wi-Fi. Apple IDs and phone numbers are also getting integrated for ease-of-use.

Maps, with Flyover and Turn-by-Turn Navigation

Apple’s brand new Maps app lacks public transportation details and the depth of Google Maps, which is not available on iOS 6. Flyover will show 3D representations of geographical features and buildings and automatically readjust routes while you’re traveling in case you get off course.

Siri

Apple’s personal assistant is back with more capabilities. Siri will answer questions about sports and movies, give you turn-by-turn directions in Maps, tweet for you, and update your Facebook status. These new features will only be available on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, and iPad 4th Gen.

Facebook

iOS 6 will be more integrated with Facebook allowing you to upload photos directly from the Camera app or share your location right from Maps. The Like button will appear in iTunes and the App Store, and, when a Facebook friend changes their address or phone number, their new information will be automatically updated in your Contacts.

VIP List

Designate contacts as VIPs and their e-mails will show up as text messages.

Offline Reading List

You’ll be able to save certain web pages for reading even without Internet connection.

Shared Photo Streams

iOS 6 promises to make sharing photos via the iCloud easier than ever with Shared Photo Streams.

Phone Reminders and Call Rejection

The revised phone app will allow you to reject a call with a message saying you’re busy or on your way. It will also remind you to call a person at a certain time or when you arrive at a set location.

Passbook

Passbook is Apple’s new e-tickets app and it promises to store and display electronic tickets and digital loyalty cards for anything from plane travel to grocery shopping.

Safari Tab Syncing

With the iCloud, you’ll be able to sync your tabs across several iOS devices. Start browsing on your iPad or iPhone and your opened tabs will appear on your Mac.
